Scope
This qualification provides competencies to conduct Gas Supply Industry activities including installation, maintenance, fault find and repair, operations of distribution and transmission gas pipelines, cylinders and associated equipment.
It is an Australia Qualification Framework (AQF) level 3 qualification and provides the required knowledge and skills to carry out work activities autonomously and takes responsibility for their own work

The requirements for granting this qualification will be met when competency is demonstrated and achieved for:
- All the Core competency standard units to achieve a total weighting of 300 points, defined in the Core Competency Standard Units table below and
- A combination of Elective competency standard units to achieve a total weighting of 660 points in accordance with the Elective Competency Standard Units tables below, resulting in the achievement of overall weighting of 960 points.
- All the required pre-requisite competency standard units have been met as required.
